01 / Research

Three threads,
one factory floor

Connected lines of work, all set in the Bangladeshi apparel industry: how factories are made more efficient, what that pressure does to the people inside them, and where the governance gaps sit.

Lean Manufacturing and the Three Pillars of Sustainability: A Systematic Literature Review of Synergies, Trade-offs, and the Paradox of Integration.

A PRISMA 2020-aligned review examining whether lean practices deliver environmental and social gains alongside operational ones, or simply relocate the cost. Synthesises the evidence base and maps where the claims outrun the data.

Indicators of modern slavery among professional employees in the Bangladeshi garment industry

Forced-labour research on the RMG sector almost always looks at the sewing floor. This study looks upward — at merchandisers, industrial engineers, quality staff and mid-level management — using a survey instrument mapped to the ILO indicators of forced labour.

Currently at data collection.

Making textile and apparel supply chains leaner, more sustainable and fairer to the people working in them.

Lean manufacturing and operational excellence, sustainability and circular supply chains, and modern slavery and labour conditions are studied here as one problem in supply chain and operations management, set in the RMG sector.
